The Women’s Board
OF WOLFSON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
Led by the President, Advisory Board, and Executive Committee, the continuing mission of the all-volunteer Women’s Board is to raise community awareness of Wolfson’s unique facility and fund state-of-the-art services, programs, equipment and facilities to provide the best health care for all children in the Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia region.
In 2008, The Women’s Board undertook a five-year, $4 million pledge to fund the recently-named Larry J. Freeman Behavioral Health Center, part of the new patient tower under construction on the Downtown campus. The Behavioral Health Center’s dedicated staff offers counseling and support for children dealing with surgery and in some cases terminal illnesses, and provides programs that address and treat the full spectrum of psychiatric illness as well as childhood obesity, eating disorders and depression, among others.
