Thanks to your incredible support, The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital is happy to announce we completed our goal of raising $1.5 million to fund two new Kids Kare Mobile Intensive Care Units. We are anticipating the new units by the end of the year.  Look for the announcement.

Our Goal

The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital has committed to raising $1.5 million over two years to support a new outdoor play area and staff who will provide support for behavioral health patients and families during and after hospitalization.

Our Vision

Imagine a space within hospital walls that feels like freedom—a safe, outdoor haven for healing, creativity, therapy, and play. This new outdoor environment will support children facing behavioral health challenges, providing them with a space to process, grow, and rediscover joy through movement, nature, and connection.

This space will extend therapy through both structured and unstructured play, allowing children to experience the benefits of movement, nature, and joy, even while in the hospital. Exposure to natural light and outdoor elements supports recovery through experiential therapies, including yoga, art, meditation, music, and recreation. These activities help promote mood regulation, cognitive function, physical well-being, and essential coping skills. By providing a place to play, reflect, and recharge, patients will have a safe, healing environment in which to work through feelings such as pain, fear, loss, or anxiety, and express the things they are struggling with.
